math journal Nov 3 2011

1)
Emily and Lily changed their answer to median because it has a more even amout of numbers on each side. On one side of the 700s there is one number on the other side there are 5 numbers. You would want a number that has an even amount on both sides. In this case it’s the median.

2)
I would choose the median because if I chose the mode, the mode would be 35 with 0 on one side and 9 on the other. Since there is an odd amount of numbers, the median would be right in the center. The median is a more accurate way of central tendency in this case.

  1. Hey Justin,

I think there is a little evidence missing from this journal. Could you check it over for me? As it is at the moment it is a level 2. You thinking is not entirely clear. Could you please revise it?

    Thanks
    Mr. B
