I just watched a video about the “It Gets Better” project by Max Alder from the TV show glee. He talked about bullying and why people who say, “ Well, I guess I deserve to be bullied” or get bullied at all should not be bullied. From this I thought the audience for this video would be any student that has trouble “fitting in” or is being bullied. For the It Gets Better project I think they used a very powerful spokesperson to deliver their message because maybe if the bullies watch Glee and they happen to come across this video they might be tempted to stop because a popular TV actor might have a bug influence on other people. I think this is a very powerful way to make change because many people have heard of Glee as a very popular show or have watched it enough times to probably see these people as role models ( now, I don’t watch glee so I’m not sure this is exactly true or not).

Peter
100 ÷ 8 = 12.5
12.5 x 5 = 62.50
Peter spent $62.50 on a holiday present and saved $38.50
Raman
100 ÷ 3 = 33.33
33.3 x 2 = 66.66
Raman spent $66.66 and saved $33.3.
Patricia
6 x 10 = 60
4 x 10 = 40
40 + 60 = 100
Patricia spent $60 and saved $40. Since 6 + 4 = 10, and 10 x 10 = 100, which is the total for everyone, I multiplied both numbers by 10 to get the actual numbers.
Fiza
100 ÷ 5 = 20
20 x 4 = 80
Fiza spent $80 and saved $20.
Patricia saved the most money. She had $40 left over from buying a holiday present.

I was introduced to a kid named Capricorn Anderson in a book called Schooled written by Gordon Korman. In the book so far I got to know a little bit about what it might be like to transfer from a home school to a regular middle school. Because he was home schooled and a “hippie” he was badly stereo typed because they thought he was stupid and “uncool” not just because of being home schooled but his clothing choice as well such as straw sandals and tie dye shirts. Often he was called a “freakazoid” by many people such as Sophie Donnely or Zach Powers who almost never took the time to get to know his side of the story.

1) a) doesn't work because it is saying for every 24 girls there are 9 boys.
b) doesn't work because it says for every 9 girls there are 24 boys.
c) doesn't work because it says for every 5 girls there are 3 boys.
d) represents the the ratio of girls to boys because if you put the numbers in a fraction you could simplify it to show an easier set of data.
Original ratio Simplified ratio

9 : 15 3 : 5
2) Natasha to teacher
12 : 36
3) 22 X 500 : 1 X 500
= 11000 : 500
It takes Gordon 11000 min to walk 500 km.
CQ)1 year =( 365 days /y ) (24 h / d ) (60 min / h) (60 sec / min ) = 31 536 000 sec / year
It takes light 31 536 000 seconds to travel 1 light year.
1 light year = 9460800000000km

Now that you know about me it’s your turn to tell about yourself. But first some questions. Do your owners put something in your food you really like?
Do you have a favourite thing to do outside even when someone’s not looking? And what’s your species name do you live up to it? Well lokks like I have to go for a walk now. Arf! Arf!

a)
28 x 3 = 140
140 – 7 – 12 – 14 – 7 = 100
To find the missing set of data you multiply the mean by the number of sets of data then subtracting the shown data from the total data. Using this method I got 100 as the missing data.
b)
I would use the median as the best measure of central tendency because 100 is a very significant outlier from the rest of the numbers.

Bark! Bark! Arf! Arf! Brrrrrrrrrrr. It's cold outside today, my humans haven't let me inside. This is always the start of each day. I'm hungry too. I can't wait till they feed me I can't wait to see what they add to my food today! Maybe it's gravy! Maybe it's broccoli! It could be anything! Rice, pasta sauce, chicken soup. Mmmm! I get hungry just thinking about it. Oh yeah! I haven't introduced myself! My name is Furgie. I am a Cairn Terrier. I live up to my species name. I can be fierce! I don't like big dogs so I bark at them to tell them to go away. I bark at big dogs to tell them to go away or that I "bite". I don't really bite them, but if a dog threatens me I am prepared to hold my ground. I also like to chase cats and squirrels, I love to do that. I'm sure my mom is glad I keep cats from pooping in our yard. I live up to that Terrier part of my species name. Yep, the dog terror! If cats poop in the yard behind my back I like to dig it up and eat it it tastes so good I cant help myself to eating it, well that's until I hear a tap on the window telling me to get out of there and come inside. I guess I can tell you more about myself but I guess that has to wait. I wonder what other dogs do all day but I know I have good owners.

The rest of the class changed their answer to mean because there was no outlying number
that would make the answer median.
2)
2.50, 2.50, 5.00, 5.00, 10.00, 10.00, 10.00, 10.00, 15.00, 17.00, 20.00
mode= 10.00 median= 10.00 mean= 9.7272
I would choose the mean because there is no outlying number to make the answer median and for the mode there is 4 numbers on one side and 3 on the other. The mean is also more central in the number values.

I have many Ideas a bout the school sports program. Some of them are good some are not so great. The good things I have in mind were, the team had a lot of encouragement to keep each other going to keep their confidence up. When they scored or even when they missed. The bad things I thought were, for differently able people such as Jason McElwain, the coach and his team just thought he was really no use. In his first game they only let him out at the end to only get one basket and come back off. They thought because he was born with autism he was useless and they could let him get a basket so he could feel good about himself. Just because some one’s differently abled you shouldn’t be judge mental and think their garbage and leave it like that. You should always try to look at their implicit strengths and weaknesses and help them improve because everyone has the right to succeed

1)
Emily and Lily changed their answer to median because it has a more even amout of numbers on each side. On one side of the 700s there is one number on the other side there are 5 numbers. You would want a number that has an even amount on both sides. In this case it’s the median.
2)
I would choose the median because if I chose the mode, the mode would be 35 with 0 on one side and 9 on the other. Since there is an odd amount of numbers, the median would be right in the center. The median is a more accurate way of central tendency in this case.
